Borrell says EU unable to become independent of Russian gas now

BRUSSELS, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- The E.U. is unable to become independent of Russian gas at once, but should strive to get rid of the dependency using all possible means, head of the E.U. diplomacy Josep Borrell said during a news conference on Saturday.

Borrell also said that the E.U. can tighten financial sanctions against Russia, including disconnection of new banks from the international interbank settlement system SWIFT.
